2007 Maimai Hawke’s Bay Sauvignon Blanc

Hawke’s Bay Sauvignon Blancs are typically softer and rounder in character than their Marlborough siblings – this wine is no exception. Lighter than most Marlborough Sauvignon Blancs, it is still instantly recognisable as Kiwi white wine with fresh bright flavours and acids, making it a good with-food partner.

2007 Maimai Creek Hawke’s Bay Gewurztraminer

Reminds me instantly of old fashioned red roses and their intense but soft perfume. This is another reminder of New Zealand’s strong potential with Gewurztraminer; it’s spicy, rose flavours and perfume lead into a fresh, light bodied white. Good with pistachios or your favourite salted nuts as a pre-dinner wine.

2007 Maimai Creek Hawke’s Bay Riesling

What is New Zealand’s most undervalued white wine? Why,Riesling of course. Lively, fresh, light bodied but at the same time intense in taste… if it sounds like a paradox, you only need a sip of this sensational white to begin understanding what good Riesling is all about.
